About Diana
Diana Adamyan is quickly gaining an international reputation as one of her generation’s most outstanding violinists, winning First Prize at the both 2018 Menuhin Competition and the 2020 Khachaturian International Competition.
Diana has performed all over the world, including performances with the hr-Sinfonieorchester at the Opening Concert of the Rheingau Musikfestival, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, the Seiji Ozawa Chamber Music Academy (Rolle), and the Matsumoto International Music Festival (Matsumoto), Göttinger Symphonieorchester, Uppsala Chamber Orchestra, Niederbayerische Philharmonie, and the Staatsorchester Darmstadt.
Among her recent engagements are collaborations with the hr-Sinfonieorchester and Alain Altinoglu, at the Rheingau Musikfestival, the Hamburger Symphoniker and Han-Na Chang, at the Leiszhalle, and Sylvain Cambrelling at the Elbphilharmonie, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Kaiserslautern Saarbrücken and Giancarlo Guerrero, the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin and Ruth Reinhardt at the Philharmonie Berlin, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz with Markus Poschner at the Prinzregententheater in Munich and Brucknerhaus Linz, Aspen Music Festival with Lionel Bringuier, Boston Pops Orchestra at the Boston Symphony Hall with Keith Lockhart, as well as recitals in Tokyo, France and the recent debut at the Boston Celebrity Series.
Diana is currently a Classeek Ambassador Programme Artist.
Born in 2000 in Yerevan into a family of musicians, Diana completed her studies in 2017 with Prof. Petros Haykazyan, in 2018 with Prof. Eduard Tadevosyan and in 2023 at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München with Prof. Ana Chumachenco. Diana was also selected to study with Pinchas Zukerman as a participant at the NAC Summer Music School, as well as with Leonidas Kavakos, in association with the DakApp Foundation. Currently living in Basel, Diana continues her studies at the Musik-Akademie Basel with Leonidas Kavakos.
Having a strong desire for chamber music, nurtured by Seiji Ozawa, Kazuki Yamada, Sadao Harada, and Nobuko Imai, Diana often joins chamber music projects and performs chamber music on festivals.
The recipient of a scholarship from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, Diana is under the patronage of the Armenian General Benevolent Union and YerazArt foundation in Boston. She performs on an instrument made by Nicolò Gagliano in 1760, generously on loan from the Henri Moerel Foundation.
Alongside her journey in classical music, Diana turns to painting as a second language of expression, capturing the colors she sees in sound and the emotions that flow through every note she plays.
